really very sorry for late reply bro and yes using phone is like damn hell without root

and these are fdl files not ld files
i already attached these files fdl files.rar download that and go to DEBUG_TOOL\DEBUG_TOOL\ResearchDownload\Bin

open research download and click on settings icon {2nd nmbr icon is settings icon}

in right side select SC6820 under product
now uncheck all files

only check fdl1
fdl2
and recovery

and double click on blank box next to these names
u will see a browse icon
then locate these files

after that click ok

and then click start icon{3rd nmbr icon in this program}

your recovery image will be flashed

then you can simply root bro

remember
channel server must be running during all this process
and all firewall programs should have to disabled

hope now there will be no problem

if rooted hit thanks if not then ask again always ready to help

Ahh Hello again VIcky... I seem to be stuck at the CWM install process too. i have the files selected. do i keep the recovery as an image file or does it need to be extracted or something before using?

anyway, it doesn't do anything when I press download. plug phone in, holding volume down. nothing? what should it show?

a bit confused. cheers again

I will upload cwm backup of stock rom but I dont have original stock image and I dont know how we can get stock firmware nonrooted

But I think restoring that cwm.backup may solve your problem

I had already backed up a CWM back up, but it didn't work. its Probably because i Tried updating the rooted stock rom with ICS rom of Samsung galaxy. However it is definetely worth a try. it should surely work if you could create a  update.zip of your current rom. if you'd trust me enough to not misuse your data..

this page from xda, {{http://www.xda-developers.com/android/easily-create-flashable-zip-files-with-aroma-app-package-creator/}}shows how you can create a flashable zip, which will be very helpful to me..

thanks in advance,

ps( Sorry if you feel ignored that, i dont use your name, Vicky. I have the same name and feel quite bugged. with full respect though.)

yeah there is still prblem when it comes to using research download.. I do all the right steps but the screen just shows battery charging when I plug in usb for flashing process. nothing shows any difference on research download screen, it just stays with the start downloading button greyed out and no process occurs..

any idea what could be wrong? I use windows 7 64 bit, would that be a problem?
